Generally you can enjoy your time here over the whole year. It hardly rains between November and May (dry season). From June to October, there can be times with heavy rainfalls (monsoon) and the sea is rough (however good surf conditions).
For a travel duration of up to 4 weeks a valid passport is sufficient. To be on the safe side please inform yourself before you begin your travel at the responsible Thai embassy in your country.
Everything is comfortably within walking distance. Various restaurants, bars, car rentals, travel agencies, diving schools etc. are only a few steps away. The localitys Surin or Patong is only a 15 minute drive by car.
The Kamala Clinic with a general practitioner is close by. The Phuket International Hospital (at Patong) offers high standard medical care.
The school of Kamala is in our neighbourhood. During recess the children play in the schoolyard, the way usually children do. We live in the same buliding and felt never disturbed. Anyway in the course of the renovations, all rooms are equipped now with additional aluminum sliding doors (in order to increase the efficiency of the air conditioning systems and for a better acoustic insulation).
